JOHN HUSTON
John Huston , American film director and actor, son of actor Walter Huston, and father of actress Anjelica Huston. John was born in Nevada, Missouri, where his father was working as chief engineer for the city utility plant. His father eventually left the family to pursue an acting career, and his parents later divorced. John was introduced to acting and drama through his father, but his own Hollywood experience began as a screenwriter for Goldwyn Studios.
He directed some of Hollywood's greatest talents, many of whom won Academy Awards under his direction. He was among the first to film entire movies on location, rather than on Hollywood sound stages. A member of a talented acting family, both his father Walter, and his daughter Anjelica appeared in films John Huston directed. In the picture on the right, you might be led to believe that the bearded man is Huston...the man with the beard is Ernest Hemingway. John Huston is the much younger man on the right who came to somewhat resemble Hemingway in his later years.
